Muskmelon 'Pride of Wisconsin'
Cucumis melo
, approximately
Description
The Pride of Wisconsin melon is an old, rather early cantaloupe-type variety, marketed since the 1920s-1930s in the Milwaukee and Philadelphia region. Regular production of grey-green fruit the size of a football, very slightly fluted and with slightly darker fluting, weighing around 1.5 to 3.5 kg. Solid stalk. Their sweet, juicy flesh with a slightly musky flavour is what makes them so famous. Ripens in 90 to 100 days.
