Sweet Pea 'Cupani'
Lathyrus odoratus
Seed Packet contains approximately 1.5 g
Description
A profusion of maroon-and-purple flowers on bushy, vigorous plants. Despite the name, this variety is not a wild collection from Sicily, as is often assumed. It was selected and introduced by Peter Grayson in 1992 from his breeding work with Old-Fashioned sweet pea types.
The strain carries many of the qualities associated with Father Franciscus Cupani’s historic introduction, yet shows greater vigour and larger blooms.
Highly valued for its fragrance, this is among the most sweetly scented of all sweet peas.
